Here you will find some of the latest and greatest weddings I've shot with some seriously cool clients. I'll also be sharing useful tips & tricks I've figured out over the years in the wedding industry. Come join me!
One of the most magical and rewarding parts of being a photographer is the ability to witness and capture human emotion. I was blessed in abundance at the wedding of Brian and Neftaly, a couple full of love and excitement matched only in loveliness by their family and friends.
The day of their wedding, the weather called for storms. Some say that’s good luck, but for photographer it means rain boots and slight panic. I was ready to fight the elements, but the clouds cleared sending in that perfect autumn crisp. While the skies held, the ladies prepared. Neftaly, being equal parts beauty and talent, did her own hair and makeup as well as some of her bridesmaids. Watching her serve her bridal party on her big day gave everyone a glimpse into how gracious a person she was.
Brian and Neftaly met in high school, but wouldn’t connect until college. Somehow Brian was always at Neftaly’s house, but they both insisted they were only friends. Brian on the other hand, wanted more, and at the urging of her mother, he asked Neftaly to be his girlfriend (at moms wedding reception). Though she tried to think of all the ways it wouldn’t work, by the end of the night she accepted. Four years later, Brian asked her another important question. This time Neftaly answered right away and they were engaged in New York City, her favorite place in the world.
Just like in life, it’s the small things that make the most impact. Moments like catching the brides parents shedding a happy tear, the groom stealing a kiss, or just catching the perfect light off of the couples beautiful wedding bands. The emotion and care that went into the details of their day was abundant. At the end of the day, the things that rang true about Brian and Neftaly’s wedding was the immense love they shared for each other. It was in the quite moments, it was in the joy and laughter. And we hope they continue experiencing those thing together for years to come.
