Here you will find some of the latest and greatest weddings I've shot with some seriously cool clients. I'll also be sharing useful tips & tricks I've figured out over the years in the wedding industry. Come join me!
When it comes to embracing the romance of the South, Mary Claire and Jordan are experts! They knew they wanted a heartfelt wedding experience that honored their southern roots. These desires took them to Charleston, South Carolina where they allowed the elegance of the city to become the backdrop for their wedding day.
Mary Claire and Jordan met at UGA. Even though Mary Claire tried to cancel their first date, Jordan persisted (or didn’t get the hint!) and picked Mary Claire up anyways! From that day on, they were inseparable. Jordan even moved to Macon one summer to be close to Mary Claire while she spent time with her family. Talk about commitment!
Mary Claire and Jordan have a deep love for each other and their families. I’m truly honored to have documented the joining of their families into one!
I was in absolute heaven at this wedding. Charleston is full of historic charm and southern hospitality at every turn. I don’t know what I loved more–all the pastel painted homes, the cobblestone streets, or the sound of the water coming into the harbor. The views for this day were stunning and I’m just itching to get back to Charleston soon!
Mary Claire has an incredible eye for design (actually, this is kind of a trend with most of my brides). She created these thoughtful and unique gifts for each of her bridesmaids! There were matching elements, like these Kendra Scott necklaces, and one of a kind items, like these custom hand drawn jewelry dishes. So thoughtful!
I’m OBSESSED with Mary Claire’s bridal look. Her Calla Blanche silhouetted bodice looked PERFECT all day. And just like you can find pops of color throughout the city, she added a pop of pink to her look with these pastel pink Sam Edelman pumps. Y’all know I love pink so I was all over these shoes!!!
This right here might just be my favorite “first look with your bridesmaids” of all time. Their reactions were completely genuine and priceless! Getting dressed with just your mom/grandma/sisters creates a special intimate moment for your family. And creates reactions like these from your bridesmaids who weren’t there to see. LOVE this idea!!!
Y’all know one of my favorite things every is when a groom isn’t afraid to show his emotions. Honestly, it’s pretty much a requirement for my couples. Not every groom is comfortable with an entire church of people looking at them when they see you for the first time. A first look gets all the nerves out, allows for you to say exactly what you’re feeling in the moment, and gives you double the opportunity for portraits together. That’s a win-win in my book!
Jordan and Mary Claire are self proclaimed “obsessed dog parents” so they knew they had to have their pup in their wedding images. Because they got married inside a church it wasn’t an option to have her in the actual ceremony. So a wonderful friend brought him in during family formals and we grabbed a couple of shots of the three of them. Just one more way they made the wedding authentic to them.
Y’all, I have no words. We had about 5 mins for bridal portraits and Mary Claire just slayed them. I love the way the greens in her bouquet and the wall behind her accentuated her green eyes. ALLLLLL the heart eyes for this one!
Jordan and his guys kept it classy with a traditional but well fitted suit. They were such good sports and walked wherever we asked around the city. And the color + cut of these bridesmaids dresses were so flattering on each lady’s body type!
The ceremony took place at the First Baptist Church, the oldest baptist church in the south. The hardwood floors down the center aisle were gorgeous!!!!!
Their love for history led them to the Old Exchange for their reception, right in the heart of historic Charleston. It was a private, intimate reception with their closest friends and family.
To round out the day we headed to the water for a few sunset photos. I love veil flying in the wind and the romantic, classic look of this black and white!
