Summer romance has played a pretty big role in Kaleb and Maddie’s relationship. It was a summer job that brought them together 5 years ago. Kaleb proposed to Maddie last summer on the beach, so when planning their wedding, summer seemed to be the perfect season to celebrate their love.

I met Kaleb and Maddie during their engagement session earlier this year. I knew then that their wedding would be full of joyful and authentic moments, and friends, I was not wrong! Maddie began her day preparing with all the lovely women in her life. After she slipped into her gown, Maddie’s mom and step-mom joined hands and prayed over the girl that they clearly adored. It was a powerful moment that left everyone in the room in tears (including me!).

Kaleb, a total guy’s guy, was completely smitten when he saw his bride during their first look. I’m a huge fan of first looks. It is such a special moment between a couple. It instantly calms nerves, making the brides trip down the aisle even more special. Kaleb cried tears of joy on seeing Maddie walking to him during their ceremony. It was one of my favorite moments of their day.

After an emotional ceremony, guests were treated to a nice summer breeze and delicious BBQ. I was able to sneak Kaleb and Maddie away for some golden hour photos. As the sun went down, the music turned up! Maddie’s little sister and all the groomsmen shared some seriously great dance moves. (Side note, I still don’t know how to floss, but I can shake it like a salt shaker! Just a 90s kid showing my age here).

It was one of those perfect summer nights. The slightest bit of fall in the air, but the summer glow that the South lets us enjoy well into October.

I’m always blown away by the special people that I get to meet on my photography journey. Kaleb, Maddie and their sweet families blessed me so much during my time with them. It was the perfect end to a magical summer. Thank you, Kaleb and Maddie for letting me share in your beautiful story!
